- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Maxson Automatic Machine Company, of Westerly, Rhode Island, for acquisition of technical services to provide the design of and all labor, equipment, materials, parts, hardware, and controllers required to upgrade the existing Maxson Sheeter, for the Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory at NIST.*****Maxson Automatic Machinery Company is uniquely qualified to perform the required services, as they are the manufacturer of the existing system and possess proprietary design information for the system that will be required for performance of the upgrade/rebuilding of the unit.*****The period of performance shall be sixteen (16) weeks.*****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by August 20, 2003, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.*****See Numbered Note 26.*****
