Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) intends to re-negotiate with BMC Corporation on a sole source basis for technical support, upgrades and maintenance on proprietary software installed on IBM mainframe computers located in Kansas City, MO. This acquisition is to renew the existing software maintenance agreement. The agreement will include product upgrades, telephone help desk support, engineering services, and training on software, which is strictly proprietary in nature. The products are maintained and upgraded by BMC. These products are currently in use at the USDA National Information Technology Center (NITC) by NITC, the Federal Aviation Administration, and/or other USDA agencies. The period of performance is for a base year, and four one-year option periods. Negotiations will be conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 - Only One Source meets the needs of the Department. This is not a Request for Proposal. No solicitation document exists and requests for a solicitation document will be ignored. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to perform these services. Please submit your email response to the Contracting Officer no later than 3:00 PM local time on August 29, 2003, to michael.mcfarland@usda.gov.
