Description
In accordance with FAR 19.1306 HUBZone sole source awards, the United States Coast Guard (USCG) intends to issue a sole source HUBZone contract to Microtech Electronics, Inc. for approximately 115 Inverter Engineering Upgrade Kits (IEUK) for use aboard the 47? The IEUK must includes all parts (inverters, cables, J-boxes, fuses, breakers, cable supports, connectors, etc.) required to retrofit the vessels as well as incorporation into existing ships systems, including specialty tools and complete illustrated instructions required for installation to be performed by USCG personnel. The IEUK must be able to interface with existing ship systems and meet existing electrical load requirements. Durability of equipment, ease of installation, simplicity of operation, system status clarity, and maintenance of the IEUK is highly important. The IEUK must withstand ship?s vibration that will occur under normal operating conditions for this boat. ABYC standards, cable runs and properly secured equipment practices must be strictly adhered to. Each kit must be complete, pre-wired on an isolated mounting panel with cables prepared to connect to the required location. The IEUK will replace an existing shore power battery charger utilizing existing bulkhead welded angle with gussets for location and support. The IEUK will also replace the existing underway AC power supply system. Interested HUBZone Small Businesses (SB) must provide the Contracting Officer evidence of HUBZone SB certification and sufficient information to determine if there is more than one HUBZone SB that can meet the CG requirement. This is a FAR part 12 commercial item acquisition. Responses to this notice must be received by 3:00 PM EST August 15, 2003. Please respond via email to pbible@comdt.uscg.mil.
