- Description
- Renovation of roof at Brasstown Bald Visitor Center. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Work consists of removing and replacing roof and promenade decking, with other associated work. Major quantities: 10,093 SF roofing -- remove existing roof and install new tapered insulation and membrane roofing; 510 SF shingle roof – remove existing shingles and install new copper roofing; 4968 SF wood decking – remove existing and install new. New membrane roof to be Duro-Last Roofing or approved equivalent. A web-cam view of a portion of the roof can be seen at www.fs.fed.us/conf/webcam.htm. Notice to proceed on this project will issued after November 1, 2003, with a winter shutdown order issued when necessary. PROJECT LOCATION: Brasstown Bald Visitor Center is located off Georgia Highway 180 between US Hwy 129 and Ga Hwy 75. Further information is at www.fs.fed.us/conf/rec/btb_overview.htm. SITE VISIT: An organized site visit has been scheduled for August 27, 2003 at 10:00 am starting in the main parking lot of the Visitor Center. Due to the nature of the project all prospective bidders are required to attend the pre-bid conference or make arrangements for a later meeting with Ervin Martin 706-745-6928 ext 103.
