Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a known requirement for a contractor to maintain and repair 25 X-Ray screening units at SSA?s Central Headquarters in Woodlawn, Maryland. Equipment to be maintained: PerkinElmer Model No. SYS 107, Linescan 107 (quantity: 6); PerkinElmer Model No. SYS 110, Linescan 110, (quantity: 7) and PerkinElmer Model No. SYS 210, Linescan 210, (quantity: 12). The contractor shall have a service engineer available in the Baltimore area. The contractor shall provide annual preventive maintenance and remedial maintenance and repairs for the equipment. The contractor?s annual maintenance for the equipment will include inspection, maintenance, adjustments, repair, and written reports on the condition of all units. The contractor shall perform an annual radiation safety inspection and survey for radiation leakage for the equipment as required by 14CFR108.17 and 14CFR129.26 and proved a written report of the inspection and survey to the Government. The contractor shall respond and provide onsite repairs within 8 business hours (next day service, Monday through Friday) at the Government?s request and the contractor shall guarantee professional responsiveness. The contractor must have the capability to respond and provide onsite repairs during after-hours and weekends including holidays. The contractor shall report to the building within 4 hours of the initial service call and have the malfunctioning component repaired and operational within 8 hours from initial notification. Service actions must include all parts, materials and labor required to adjust, maintain, repair or restore the equipment to the proper operating condition in accordance with the manufacturer?s specifications. Only new parts and materials or parts and materials of equal quality shall be used to effect repairs. Competitive pricing will be solicited and accepted. SSA anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract with a period of performance consisting of a base year and provisions for an additional four one-year option periods. The North American Industry Classification System code for this requirement is 561990 and the size standard for this code is $6M. The acquisition is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 regarding the acquisition of commercial items and FAR Part 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The RFQ will be available for downloading on or about August 20, 2003, from the Federal Procurement website at www.fedbizopps.gov. HARD COPIES OF THE RFQ WILL NOT BE MAILED.
