- Description
- The Library of Congress has a requirement for the mechanical fabrication, electronic assembly test and documentation of a solar battery charging system to charge the NiCard battery used in the C1 portable talking book player for the National Library Services for the Blind and Physical Handicapped Division. NLS/BPH administers a free library service to eligible residents of the United States and citizens living abroad who cannot hold, handle or read traditional print media because of visual or physical impairment. Portable Cassette Playback machines are designed to facilitate convenient use by handicapped people. These machines incorporate Nickel Cadmium rechargeable battery that allows batteries to be recharged by means of solar energy in locations where AC power is not available. Proposals shall be submitted by fax on company letterhead to 202-707-8611 no later than August 15, 2003.
