Description
NAICS Code: 334516 The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Environmental Science Center seeks to award a purchase order for the following line items: 1) Gel Documentation System- include pricing for software to quantify the amount of DNA/RNA and protein contained in the gel. It will be used to document gel results, must be able to detect small amounts of DNA/RNA, will be used to quantify and qualify protein gels- The Gel Documentation system will capture images in real time, allowing EPA to more accurately position and focus on samples. Images acquired with the proposed system should be rapidly optimized and analyzed for the quantification of nucleic acids stained with ethidium bromide and other fluorophores including SYBR Gold, which will be utilized in experiments; 2) Subcell GT system (Gel Rig)-include pricing for power supply, all sizes of gel trays, combs, and gel casters. It will be used to run electrophoresis gels for DNA and RNA; Subcell GT system should have distinct features such as UV-transparent gel trays with fluorescent ruler, buffer recirculation ports, and adjustable height combs. This system should meet IEC 1010 (EN 61010) safety requirements for electrical equipment; 3) Mycycler Thermocycler System compatible with the Affymetrix Genechip protocol- include pricing for PCR tubes, DNA polymerase, power cord. It will be used to accurately control the temperature of the reverse transcription step of the RNA preparation and will also be used for Polymerization Chain Reactions- The proposed system should have a thermal gradient functionality to maximize the number of reaction components and parameters in a single experiment, thus increasing assay flexibility; 4) Vacufuge- include pricing for pump. It will be used to concentrate DNA/RNA samples at low temperatures under vacuum to prevent denaturing- The vacufuge should have multiple evaporation modes to reduce processing time, maximize evaporation efficiency and prolong pump lifespan. The system should contain motorless drive and sealed chamber to provide trouble-free operation. The system should also have automatic vacuum release to prevent sample loss from bumping and foaming; 5) Refrigerated Multi-purpose Centrifuge- It will be used to separate cells from growth media, separate DNA/RNA/protein precipitates- include pricing for fixed angle rotor, swing-bucket rotor with four buckets for 2 x 50ml conical tubes, 4 x 15ml conical tube adapter set of 2 for swing-bucket rotor with four buckets, 1 x 15ml conset adapter, adapter for fixed angle rotor for 50ml conical, and a 4x 1.5-2.0ml adapter; The proposed system should accommodate a variety of rotors- a high capacity general purpose centrifuge for cell harvesting, a high-speed centrifuge for separating cell lysates, and a micro centrifuge for DNA precipitations; 6) Small table-top centrifuge. Must offer a wide range of molecular biology separations and quick spins with compact design. Should have an air-flow feature which minimizes heating and protects temperature-sensitive samples. OFFERORS MAY SUBMIT QUOTATIONS FOR FEWER THAN ALL OF THE PRECEDING LINE ITEMS, AS THE PURCHASE ORDER AWARD WILL BE MADE ON A MULTIPLE AWARD BASIS BY LINE ITEM. OFFERORS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT MULTIPLE BRAND AND MANUFACTURER EQUIVALENTS FOR THE PRECEDING LABORATORY EQUIPMENT IF POSSIBLE. SHIPPING COSTS WILL BE CONSIDERED IN THE GOVERNMENT'S PRICE EVALUATION. AWARD WILL BE MADE ON A BEST VALUE TRADE-OFF, CONSIDERING TECHNICAL FACTORS OVER PRICE.
