- Description
- The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), intends to negotiate on a non competitive basis with Affymetrix Inc., 3380 Central Expressway, Santa Clara, California 95051, to purchase one (1) each, Fluidics Station System Model FS450. The Fluidics Station System is currently the limiting component to process Affymetrix chips. Currently NHLBI is unable to process all of the chips associated with more than twenty (20) on-going experiment projects in a timely fashion. The Fluidics Station System will provide the ability to process more chips for these clinical studies. NHLBI has in existence, Affymetrix equipment including a hybridization oven, Fluidics station, Scanner and workstation used for these projects. The system is required to be delivered within two (2) weeks from the award date of the contract. This acquisition is being conducted using simplified acquisition procedures. The North American Industry Classification System is 334516, size Standard 500 employees is applicable to this requirement. The Small Business Set-Aside is not applicable to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement. Responses to this announcement, referencing synopsis number NHLBI-PS-2003-107 may be submitted to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Contracts Operations Branch, Procurement Section, Building RKL2, Suite 6149, 6701 Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD 20892, Attention Ms. Cecilia D. Morales, Purchasing Agent. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency.
