- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to enter into a sole source contract with the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), 2101 Constitution Avenue, Washington, D.C. under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(5) - Authorized or required by statute. In accordance with the Organic Act, Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program (15 U.S.C. 278g-2), the National Institute of Standards and Technology, in conjunction with the National Academy of Sciences, shall establish and conduct a post-doctoral fellowship program, subject to the availability of appropriations, which shall be organized and carried out in substantially the same manner as the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council Post-Doctoral Research Associate Program that was in effect prior to 1986, and which shall include not less than twenty nor more than 60 new fellows per fiscal year. The period of performance for this requirement is from award of the contract through one year thereafter, with four 1-year option periods. The Government anticipates the award of a cost reimbursement type contract. The proposed requirement is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation package is not available. See NOTES 22 and 26.***
