Description
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service in Albany, California has a requirement for one (1) quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometer (MS) that must be compatible with an existing ThermoFinnigan liquid chromatograph (LC) and Excalibur software. The MS must operate with the existing LC and software as a system that integrates the LC and MS operation from one screen. It is essential that the LC and MS detector be compatible for interfacing so as to maintain dead volume at a minimum and sensitivity at an optimum. Additionally, the MS must be capable of automated MS/MS scan in order to identify similarly eluting molecules and capable of manual as well as automated MS/MS/MS to further identify isomeric molecules. The MS must have an electrospray ionization probe to optimize detection of specific molecules, include a mass range of 50 daltons to at least 2000 daltons, and be capable of handling flow from LC up to at least 0.5 ml. The quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometer meets our research requirements and the Government intends to negotiate with the only known responsible source, ThermoFinnigan Corporation. A solicitation is not available for this notice. Interested firms are encouraged to submit proposals containing descriptive literature of their products to the mailing address shown in this notice. The USDA, Agricultural Research Service in Albany, California has a requirement for one (1) quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometer (MS) that must be compatible with an existing ThermoFinnigan liquid chromatograph (LC) and Excalibur software.
