- Description
- The U. S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Juneau plans to issue a Request for Quotation for the procurement of services for heating repairs, maintenance, and replacement of boilers at the U. S. Coast Guard Cutter Hickory Housing at Homer, Alaska. Services consist of replacement and installation of three oil-fired natural draft hot water boilers, factory assembled and tested, cast iron, wet base sectional type, top flue outlet complete with firing equipment, insulation with steel jacket, safety and operating controls, integral electrical wiring and other appurtenances to make each boiler a complete, self contained, fully automatic unit, ready for service upon utility connection completion. Boiler ratings shall have a net IBR rating of 210 MBH. Services shall include replacement of circulators, barometric dampers and boiler isolation valves and installation of new low water cutouts and air separators. Modify system as need to fit and connect the new boilers, air separators and low water cut outs to existing. The proposed contract action is for services the Government intends to acquire as a commercial service item using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13.5 TEST PROGRAM FOR CERTAIN COMMERCIAL ITEMS. The estimated award date is mid September 2003, with a performance period of 45 calendar days. This procurement is issued as a 100% small business set-aside. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238220 and the applicable size standard is $12.0 million dollars in annual receipts for the past three years. All responsible small businesses may submit a quote. This solicitation will not be issued in paper form. Solicitation documents, may be accessed for download from the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website beginning on the date of issue (estimated to be on or about 15 August 2003) at the following site: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Any amendments issued to the solicitation will be posted on this website. Prospective quoters are responsible for checking the website for amendments up to the date and time quotes are due. The technical data package (drawings) will only be available through a link in FedBizOpps to the Federal Technical Data Solution (FEDTeDS) website. Firms must be currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database and FEDTeDS database to be able to access the technical data package. Firms not having the capability to download solicitation documents may refer to a list of printers available through the CEU Juneau web site at http://www.uscg.mil/mlcpac/ceujuneau. Printers on this list can download and print drawings and other solicitation documents for a fee. A planholders list will not be available for this project from CEU-Juneau.
