- The U. S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Juneau plans to issue a Request for Quotation for the procurement of services for heating repairs, maintenance, and replacement of boilers in three (3) housing buildings at the U. S. Coast Guard Housing Area, Sitka, Alaska. Services in the boiler rooms consist of replacing the heating and domestic water systems including heating and domestic water piping, boilers and controls, breechings, expansion tanks, pipe and hot water tank insulation, zone valves, pumps, pipe supports, and appurtenances, repair of the boiler room walls and ceilings, cleaning, painting of the walls, floors and ceilings. In the crawl spaces of two of the buildings, remove four zone valves and install a new heating supply from the boiler room. The proposed contract action is for services the Government intends to acquire as a commercial service item using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13.5 TEST PROGRAM FOR CERTAIN COMMERCIAL ITEMS. The estimated award date is mid September 2003, with a required completion date of July 31, 2004. No physical work in the housing units shall be performed prior to June 1, 2004. This procurement is issued as a 100% small business set-aside. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238220 and the applicable size standard is $12.0 million dollars in annual receipts for the past three years. All responsible small businesses may submit a quote. This solicitation will not be issued in paper form. Solicitation documents, may be accessed for download from the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website beginning on the date of issue (estimated to be on or about 18 August 2003) at the following site: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Any amendments issued to the solicitation will be posted on this website. Prospective quoters are responsible for checking the website for amendments up to the date and time quotes are due. The technical data package (drawings) will only be available through a link in FedBizOpps to the Federal Technical Data Solution (FEDTeDS) website. Firms must be currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database and FEDTeDS database to be able to access the technical data package. Firms not having the capability to download solicitation documents may refer to a list of printers available through the CEU Juneau web site at http://www.uscg.mil/mlcpac/ceujuneau. Printers on this list can download and print drawings and other solicitation documents for a fee. A planholders list will not be available for this project from CEU-Juneau.
