- Description
- The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (Corporation) plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for furnishing all plant, labor, equipment and materials and perform all work for removing steel landings and work platforms and installing new Corporation furnished galvanized steel landings, work platforms, ladder rungs and structures to support fall protection/retrieval devices in machinery recesses at Eisenhower and Snell Locks in Massena, New York. The recesses are concrete shafts approximately 8 ft. x 10 ft. x 60 ft. deep which are accessed from galleries located within the lock walls or through composite steel/concrete covers on top of the lock walls. The RFQ will be released approximately August 15, 2003. The work is to be completed by December 1, 2003. Cost range is between $25,000 and $100,000. This project award is based on availability of funds. Tentative date for final receipt of quotations is 2:00 pm, September 16, 2003. There is a Forty ($40) Dollar nonrefundable fee per set for plans, specs, and drawings. The RFQ package may be requested by mail to P.O. Box 520, 180 Andrews Street, Massena, NY 13662-0520. No telephone requests. This will be a Firm-Fixed Price contract. This solicitation shall be issued in accordance with the ?Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program?. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises; The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for Transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for Bid, Payment, and Performance Bonds up to $1.0 Million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
