- This is a Sources Sought Notice requesting information needed by the Government for planning purposes and to identify potential commercial sources. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE NOTICE. OFFERORS MUST RESPOND TO THE QUESTIONS CONTAINED IN THIS NOTICE. This is not a request for proposals and in no way obligates the Government. The United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is seeking qualified sources for future requirements to develop soil polygons and soil symbol/special feature overlays to be used in developing a soil survey geographic (SSURGO) database for areas within the state of Alabama. Overlays will be scanned and are compiled from 1:24000 ratioed film positives. Projects are generally under $100,000. Qualified offerors should indicate their interest by sending an email to barbara.creech@al.usda.gov NO LATER THAN AUGUST 18, 2003. ALL INTERESTED OFFERORS MUST USE E-MAIL TO RESPOND TO THIS NOTICE. TELEPHONE AND FACSIMILE RESPONSES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Offerors must provide the return email address, point of contact, mailing address, telephone number, and facsimile number. In addition, please respond to the following: (1) Is your business a small or large business? (2) If small, does your firm qualify as a small, emergent business, a small disadvantaged business, a veteran-owned small business or a service-disabled veteran-owned small business? (3) If you are a disadvantaged business, specify under which disadvantaged group, and whether your firm is certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act.
