- Description
- The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA= =20 15240 intends to negotiate with The Western Pennsylvania Hospital, 4800 Friendship Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224, and Radiology Associates of Western Pennsylvania, P.C., 4782 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224, on a sole source basis pursuant to 6.302-1 for neuroradiologist services for the estimated period of November 1, 2003 =96 July 31, 2004 (9 months). The contract with The Western Pennsylvania Hospital will be for the technical component, and the contract with Radiology Associates of Western Pennsylvania will be for the professional component associated with providing subspecialty trained neuroradiologist services to perform and report examinations particular to neuroradiology. Services include: myelograms; diagnostic cerebral angiograms; cervical and lumbar discograms; biopsies, bone, trocar, or needle deep (vertebral body) with CT guidance; diagnostic lumbar punctures, cerebral embolizations; and interpretation and dictation of neuro MRI, CTA and MRA studies of head and/or neck. All interventional neuroradiology procedures will be performed at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital. Routine interventional neuroradiology procedures will be scheduled two mornings per week at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital.=20 Routine and emergency neuro MRIs, MRAs, and CTAs will be performed by VA personnel at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, and images will be provided to Radiology Associates of Western Pennsylvania, P.C. by teleradiology through VPN internet access for interpretation and dictation. These contractors will provide =93on-call=94 neuroradiology coverage for emergencies twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. Emergency exams will be performed at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital by Radiology Associates of Western Pennsylvania neuroradiologists within two (2) hours after scheduling. Firms who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide technical and professional neuroradiologist services as described above to the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System may notify the Contracting Officer, in writing, no later than August 11, 2003 C.O.B. Notification shall be mailed to Linda Glancy (04A-H), Contracting Officer, VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 or e-mailed to Linda.Glancy@med.va.gov. The notification must consist of a narrative describing the contractor=92s location and qualifications to demonstrate that the contractor can meet our requirements for neuroradiologist services. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. Information on estimated quantities of procedures can be obtained upon request to the Contracting Officer. The hospital must be JCAHO accredited and located within a fifteen (15) mile radius of the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive Division, University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA=20 15240. The VA prefers that the neuroradiologists be board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals.
