- Description
- The Government intends to qualify vendors interested in producing Type 18 Radio Frequency (RF) absorbant tile. Once received, the Government will perform a full complement of environmental and electrical tests on the materials in accordance with the Type 18 Material Specification, Rev. B. A copy of this specification can be received by contacting the point of contact for this announcement. The testing will be destructive. Only companies that have a current secret facility clearance on file with the Defense Security Service (DSS) and personnel with secret clearances will be authorized to receive the specification. In order to have the tests performed and be considered for qualification, the prospective vendor must submit 20 tiles to NSWC PHD, Code S13, 4363 Missile Way, Port Hueneme, CA 93043, Attn: Robin Nussear. No compensation is provided for the 20 tiles submitted for t esting. Qualification is necessary in order to be eligible to be considered as a potential source for this material when solicitations are released from NAVICP Mechanicsburg. All vendors responding to this announcement will be required to comply with a DD 254 and non-disclosure agreement (security documents) prior to receiving material specifications or commencing work on this task. Interested vendors will have 2 weeks from the date of posting this announcement to notify the Government in writing of their intent to qualify material and 12 weeks beyond this date to submit materials to the Government.
