- This synopsis supplements one previously published on 18 July 2003. The Naval Sea Systems Command seeks to identify potential sources for development of a precision guided munition as an alternative to the EX-171 Extended Range Guided Munition (ERGM). The munition design must offer greater versatility than ERGM and a unit production cost significantly lower than ERGM. The munition must fire from the 5 inch MK 45 Gun Mount (both Mod 2 and Mod 4), have a length < 61?, weigh < 110 pounds, employ GPS/INS guidance and be lethal against a variety of ground target types including trucks, personnel, SAM Radar and artillery. The munition must meet or exceed key performance parameters (threshold values stated) as follows: Delivery Accuracy - <20M CEP (jamming and non-jamming environment); Rate of Fire - 5 rd/min; Minimum Range - 15 nmi; Maximum Range 41 nmi. The munition must meet the above requirements in a firing demonstration by 30 September 2005.
