- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) releases this SIR to acquire approximately 80 Runway Visual Range (RVR) systems. A Market Survey, FAACO-2090 was completed on April 2002 that indicated multiple sources of commercial products are available to meet FAA RVR requirements. As a part of the SIR/RFO, Industry is required to deliver three (3) Visibility Sensors and three (3) Ambient Light Sensors to the designated Government Test Facility not later than September 8, 2003. Operational capability testing will take place over a six-month period. The Technical Proposal is due October 30, 2003 and the Cost Proposal is due January 30, 2004. Selection will be made on a best value basis at the completion of testing. Contract award is anticipated in June 2004. See the attached /SIR for additional proposal requirements, due dates, and delivery information. The FAA shall not be liable for any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this SIR, nor reimburse or otherwise pay any costs incurred by any party responding. The FAA will provide a brief period for questions/comments.
