- Description
- NOTICE OF INTENT. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) intends to solicit and award a sole source order to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), 16701 West Bernardo Drive, San Diego, CA 92127, for installation services for the Pallet Vehicle and Cargo Inspection Systems (VACIS) bought under GSA Schedule. These units are to be installed at various ports of entry within the United States. The requirement will be processed under exception 41 USC 253(c)(1), only one responsible source. The pallet VACIS is exclusively manufactured by SAIC and must be installed by SAIC because they are the only source to possess the knowledge and expertise necessary to prepare the sites to the exact spcifications for installation. Additionally, SAIC must install and test the equipment in order for SAIC to be able to offer the equipment warranty. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.
