Description
Contractor shall completely prepare the site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials to perform work for the construction of an 18-bed Intensive Care Unit by renovating the 3rd floor, B wing (3B) in Building 801, Downtown Division, VA Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia, in strict accordance with contract plans and specifications. BID ITEM I: Furnish all necessary labor, materials and equipment for the demolition and removal of existing construction and renovate for an 18-bed Intensive Care Unit on the 3rd floor, B wing (3B) in Building 801, Downtown Division, VA Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia. Work includes, but is not limited to, general construction and alterations, installation of exterior window and metal wall panel systems, carpentry and interior finishes, mechanical (HVAC & piping), and electrical systems. Specialized trades include, but are not limited to, medical gas column system, fire detection and suppression systems, nurse call and data/communications (CAT 6). Upon completion of demolition work, Contractor will provide a mock-up of a typical patient room for review and approval by the Medical Center's clinical staff before proceeding with construction of patient rooms. All work will be done in accordance with contract drawings and specifications. Infection control requirements will be strictly enforced. BID ITEM IA: All work covered in Bid Item 1 with the exception of the data/communications (CAT 6) specialized trade. Pre-bid site visits have been scheduled for Tuesday, August 12, 2003 and Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at 10:00 am. Interested parties are requested to meet at the VA Medical Center, Bldg. 801, Room 1B181, Downtown Division, 800 Bailie Drive, Augusta, Georgia. DO NOT CONTACT THE CONTRACTING OFFICER TO ARRANGE SITE VISITS. Cost range is between $2,000,00 to $5,000,000. This solicitation is unrestricted and offered as a full and open competitive solicitation. The applicable NAICS code is 233320 with a size standard of $27.5 million. The solicitation and drawings will be ready for download o/a August 8, 2003. Solicitation and drawings must be downloaded from the website listed in this announcement.
