Description
NA The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be issuing a Invitation for Bid for Seabrook Harbor, Seabrook and Hampton, New Hampshire, Section 227 Project, National Shoreline Erosion Control Development and Demonstration Program. The work of this project consist s of placement of two sheet pile double wall bulkheads at each end of a depression in Seabrook Harbor. The bulkheads will be approximately 960 feet and 560 feet long. Approximately 62,300 square feet of sheet pile will be installed. The area defined by th e bulkheads will be filled with approximately 84,500 cubic yards of dredged material, pumped from adjacent areas in Seabrook-Hampton Harbor. The dredged areas have never been dredged, but the areas have been shoaling over the last few years. No hard diggin g is expected. Filling the depression is necessary to stop erosion of a nearby clam flat and shore property. Placement of stone protection material at the foot of the bulkhead walls will be done to stabilize the walls and protect against erosion. Additi onal stone placement may be necessary to tie the sheet pile walls to the existing southern shore. Work will be limited to the period of 15 October to 15 March, with dredging limited to the period of 15 November to 15 March. THIS SOLICITATION IS UNRESTRICT ED. Solicitation shall be made available via the Internet on or about 8/01/03. No paper copies of the solicitation or amendments will be available. The firms interested must register on the Internet to receive the solicitation. Registration instructions are available on the Internet at http://www.nae.usace.army.mil as well as the media by which the solicitation will be made available.
