Description
NA PURPOSE: The U.S. Research, Development, and Engineering Command (RDECOM), Communications and Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Center (CERDEC), Space and Terrestrial Communications Directorate (STCD) is conducting a market survey to determine the identity of companies and soliciting White Papers that address communications planning technology. Most current Army exercises are planned and simulated assuming perfect communications. Employing a network planner for dynamic on-the-move (OTM) networks w ith realistic communications effects simulation is key to giving the commander the ability to accurately predict the status of communications throughout an operation. INFORMATION SOUGHT: This market survey is soliciting technical white papers describing technologies for planning dynamic OTM networks while utilizing realistic communications modeling. Key factors to be addressed are, but are not limited to: 1) Methods for modeling, planning, and visualizing dynamic OTM networks, including network topology and RF links, mobility, and environment. 2) Ability to incorporate real-time data to update plan. 3) Network planning/decision aids. 4) Interfaces available to other software. 5) Performance (i.e. number of nodes, simulation speed in reference to real-time). 6) Software architecture. 7) Communications effects utilized (e.g. terrain, weather) RESPONSE REQUIREMENTS: Interested parties are encouraged to submit a three-page white paper describing the top-level capabilities of their technology/product. No charts or graphs should be included. Responses should be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word format and are required no later than 30 days after publication of this announcement. Early submissions are encouraged.
