Description
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Through the Division of Acquisition Management (DAM), Program Support Center (PSC), plans to award a 6 month sole source contract using simplified acquisition procedures, to the AcademyHealth Services Research and Health Policy, 1801 K Street, NW, Suite 701-L, Washington DC 20006. The anticipated date of award is August 11, 2003. This proposed project will be a feasibility study to determine how employment demand in health services research can be captured, one or more approaches tailored to measure it, and the feasibility of executing the approach(es). In tailoring the methodology(ies), the contractor shall ensure that all disciplines encompassed in health services research (e.g., clinical fields such as medicine, nursing and pharmacy, non-clinical degree fields such as epidemiology, specific social sciences and multidisciplinary-degree fields such as health management/organization, health policy and health services research) are addressed and that all potential employment settings (e.g., academia, government, private sector, health care delivery systems) are included. The contractor shall focus on tailoring a methodology(ies) to determine the extent of labor market demand at a baseline level, but will also propose specific methods for using baseline data to project demand into the future, based on changes in the supply of health services researchers and the employment sector, e.g., aging of the workforce, shifts in the labor market, etc. The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of far 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation is available. For further information, please contact Nora Tyson in Rm. 5C-03, Parklawn Building, 5600 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD. 20857 or on 301-443-2475.
