- Description
- The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary requires ongoing day-to-day operation and monitoring of the Sanctuary Integrated Monitoring Network (SIMoN). SIMoN is a unique program to comprehensively monitor an entire Central California marine ecosystem and make its information effectively available to the public and decision-makers. The goals of SIMoN are to (1) integrate existing monitoring conducted in the Sanctuary, (2) initiate basic surveys or characterizations of all habitats and regions of the Sanctuary, (3) initiate specific question driven monitoring efforts with fixed duration, (4) establish a series of essential long-term monitoring efforts that will continue into the future, and (5) provide timely and pertinent information to managers and decision makers, the research community, and the general public. A performance-based firm-fixed price contract is anticipated. The period of performance is for one (1) base year with four (4) additional one-year options. A Request for Proposals (RFP) solicitation will be available on or about July 31, 2003, through the Government's website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. No paper copies will be issued.
