Description: The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, intends to enter into a sole source contract with Cepheid, Sunnyvale, California. This contract is to procure upgrades for a Government-owned Cepheid Smart Cycler Real Time PCR Machine as follows: Smart Cycler II Upgrade, 16 Version II I-Core Modules, Smart Cycler II Upgrade Manual, and Smart Cycler II Software 2.0 and including a twelve month warranty and a Smart Cycler II Add On Processing Block, Processing Block with sixteen independent reaction sites, each with 4-color optical excitation and detection and USB cable. Cepheid is the manufacturer of the original equipment and is the only provider for these upgrades.
