Description
MODIFIED BID RESPONSE DATE JULY 25, 2003. United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Mid West Area has a project entitled Recoating Water Tower. The project is located at the USDA, ARS, National Animal Disease Center, Ames, Iowa. This work includes, but is not limited to furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work to perform and complete the following: Base Bid includes removal of lead based paint to bare metal and repainting (both interior and exterior) of the 150' tall eight legged, 500,000 gallon water tower. Associated work is the fabrication and installation of a new ladders, cages, and landings, replacement of existing electrical (obstruction lights, receptacles, conduits and wiring up from the tower base) system. The period of performance for Base Bid is 150 days. Option I includes removal of existing conduit and conductors and the installation of new conduit and conductors from the waste treatment building to the base of the water tower. The period of performance for Option I is 14 days. Option II includes the installation of new impressed current cathodic protection system to protect the water piping and storage steel above grade. The period of performance for Option II is 30 days. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. A Bid Bond as well as Performance and Payment Bonds shall be required. Estimated price range for Base Bid and All Options are: Between 250,000 and 500,000. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for Small Business. The North American Industry Classification System code for this acquisition is 238320, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The Small Business Size Standard is $12.0 million. The anticipated IFB solicitation package will be available on or about June 9, 2003, with opening date 30 days later.
