Description
NA New Generation Army Targetry System (NGATS) Request For Information; It should be explicitly noted that the U.S. Government makes no official committment nor obligation to procure any systems or services at this time by the release of this information. The Targets Management Office (TMO) is developing a NGATS to replace existing target systems on live fire ranges. The NGATS will be made up of families of targetry components that are interchangeable and provide the required performance at a low life cycl e cost. The information will be used to establish realistic NGATS life cycle costs for budgeting purposes. As life cycle cost is a significant factor in the NGATS program, the TMO is seeking life cycle information, specifically Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), for each end item and its Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). The end ite ms for which information is being sought include Stationary Infantry Targets (SITs), Stationary Armor Targets (SATs), Moving Infantry Targets (MITs), and Moving Armor Targets (MATs). MTBF and MTTR information should be expressed in hours. Request product manufacturers provide estimates of MTBFs and MTTRs for equipment in the field. This information will be used to establish realistic NGATS life cycle cost estimates for budgeting purposes. It is highly desired that the MTBF and MTTR information be submit ted with unlimited rights or as a minimum Government use rights. The information provided as a result of this RFI is intended solely for planning purposes and does not constitute an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. All responses should be forwarded to Mr. James E. Fletcher electronically at james.fletcher@redstone.army.mil or via datafax at (256) 955-0261, not later than 30 Jul 03.
