Description

Provide all materials, equipment, and labor required to supplement and/or upgrade deficient lightning protection systems at the eight explosive facilities located at Arnold Air Force Base Tennessee. Major items of work include, but are not limited to the following: (a)Provide and install masts, catenary wires, mast down conductors, ground rods, building counterpoise, and motor control center surge protective device to supplement an existing catenary lightning protection system; (b)Provide and install air terminals, main conductors, ground rods, down grounds, building counterpoise, bonding conductors, panel surge protective device, to supplement an existing integral lightning protection system; (c) where new building counterpoises are installed, restore trenched areas to original condition. All work will be accomplished per specifications and drawings. The solicitation that will include specification and drawings will be posted on or about 29 July 2003. Period of Performance is 140 calendar days after notice to proceed. The estimated magnitude of this effort is between $100,000 and $250,000. This solicitation will only be available electronically. It is recommended that prospective bidders register as a source at the www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil website. Bidders are responsible to check the website for information posted.
