- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)?s Strategic Communications Office (NS8) is responsible for providing support to the White House Communications Agency (WHCA) for an aggressive modernization effort to upgrade selected critical systems. One of these upgrades involves replacing WHCA?s current travel LoS microwave systems. DISA andWHCA intend to replace the current systems with four copies of a commercial-off-the-shelf system best meeting the following requirements: able to operate over a distance of 10-15 miles, with world-wide frequency availability, at a data rate of T-1 as a minimum (4 x T-1 preferred), providing RS422/530 and IP interfaces, compatible with Promina equipment and common military crypto equipment (KIV-7, KIV-19...), with repeater capability, J-12 certified or capable of being certified, in a small, robust, lightweight package easily and quickly deployed in a tactical urban environment. Industry is requested to identify commercial-off-the-shelf products that meet this description. White papers are requested by Monday 4 August 2003 to the contracting officer.
