- The United States Penitentiary (USP) and Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Leavenworth, located in Leavenworth, Kansas, is soliciting a contractor to provide the services of a Pharmacy Technician to the inmate population. The contractor will perform assessments, to include, but not limited to, reading prescriptions written by medial staff, determination of medications prescribed, transcribing prescription data to labels, preparing prescriptions to be reviewed and giving patient instructions, when appropriate to federally incarcerated inmate patients. All supplies and equipments shall be furnished by USP Leavenworth. The services shall be performed Monday through Friday, 8:00am through 3:30pm, excluding holidays. The anticipated period of performance is from the 10/01/03 through 9/30/04. This solicitation is set-aside 100% small business and the NAICS code is 621999. This is not a personnel appointment. The award of the contract does not constitute an employee/employer relationship. The contractor will not be supervised, except for security related matters, but will be monitored to determine if services rendered are in compliance with the contract terms and conditions. The contractor will adhere to specific rules and regulations of the department and institution. Any individual working within the confines of USP/FPC Leavenworth must undergo a background investigation and drug test prior to being permitted inside the institution. It is anticipated that this solicitation will be available on or after 18 July 03 and will be distributed through the General Services Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities web site ?www.fedbizopps.gov?. The website provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available, except in extreme circumstances and only if issuance in this manner is determined to be in the Government?s best interest. The government may award the contract without discussions, therefore, offerors are instructed to submit their best offer initially. All responsible small business sources are encouraged to submit an offer for consideration
