Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with ADE Technologies, Inc., of Newton, Massachusetts, for acquisition of one (1) each, VSM Model and Control for Model 10 VSM. The VSM Model and Control will be used by the Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory Division at NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland.*****Sole source determination is based on the need for the Model 10 VSM to be compatible with NIST?s existing Model 10 Digital Measurement System (DMS) Rotating Magnet System, Computer-controlled DMS Reversible Power Supply for Model 10 VSM Electromagnet System, and Computer software to operate the Magnet and Power Supply. The VSM Model is to be used in the measurement of absolute magnetic moment standards, thin films, and materials exhibiting time dependence in the magnetization. *****Delivery is required within 60 days or less after receipt of order (ARO) and shall be made FOB destination.*****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 Employees.****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by July 18, 2003 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.*****
