- Description
- The Dyess AFB housing goal is to maximize opportunities to provide military families with safe, quality, affordable housing. To this end, the Government contemplates encouraging, through a Government direct loan, a private developer to design, build, own, manage, and maintain a minimum of 402 new quality apartments and townhouses for military members to rent off-base in Abilene, Texas. This new housing project shall provide housing where military families will choose to live. The project will include supporting facilities, such as a business office, maintenance facilities, and entertainment/recreation facilities. The development shall be comparable to other privately owned apartment and townhouse developments in the local area. Further, construction codes and standards used in Abilene, Texas for this type of new construction shall also be applied. The Government will not convey any existing units or lease any Government owned land, as part of this project. The Successful Offeror will own the land and the housing units.
