- Description
- NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Draft Request for Proposal (DRFP) for Force Measurement Support Services on or about July 23, 2003. The goal of this procurement is to provide high quality force and strain instrumentation for Langley Research Center's Aerospace Research and Structures and Materials Development programs by maintaining existing force and strain transducers and test articles, as well as through the development of new capabilities and technologies that will evolve over the life of the contract. A cost-plus fixed fee/firm-fixed price, requirements type contract is contemplated for this effort with a five year period of performance. The projected contract award date is November 1, 2003. The DRFP will be issued pursuant to NASA FAR Supplement 1815.201. Questions/Comments are invited from potential offerors on all aspects of the DRFP, including the requirements, schedules, proposal instructions, and evaluation approach. The Government is not requesting proposals in response to this DRFP, does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation and does not intend to pay for any information received regarding this solicitation. Prospective offerors are invited to submit questions/comments to the Contract Specialist, Roberta Knight, by e-mail to r.knight@larc.nasa.gov. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541710 and 1500 employees respectively. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the DRFP is on or about July 23, 2003. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 2000 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
