Description
NAICS Code: 334516 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Research and Development (ORD) in the Research Triangle Park,N.C area plans to negotiate on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 6.301 with Quantachrome Instruments, various ancillary items to support the use of an existing instrument, the Quanta Chrome Instruments AutoSorb 1-C. This mass spectrometer must be fully compatible with and connectable to the QuantaChrome AutoSorb high vacuum system. The mass spectrometer must be a least a 200 AMU unit with electron multiplier for use in automatic temperature programmed reduction (TPR) and desorption (TPD) measurements using the AutoSorb 1-C. The mass spectrometer must also include a sample temperature sensor and interface to simultaneously log mass, sample temperature and time for complete temperature programmed analysis. The associated data acquisition software must be Windows (R) compatible and 508 compliant. (see http://www.section580.gov A six-port vacuum and flow degasser that is capable of degassing samples for analysis in the AutoSort 1-C is also required. A heated vapor sorption unit with Viton elastometer seals is also required. All equipment must be fully compatible with use in or with the AutoSorb 1-C and it's high vacuum system. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting the EPA's requirements may submit technical documentation to establish the potential of complying with the requirements stated above. Such documentation must be submitted to the point of contact with 15 days of electronic posting of this notice. A determinstion by the Government not to compete with this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The applicable NAICS Code is 334516.
