- This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice: The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), intends to acquire construction services for our facility at Gulfport, Mississippi for the demolition of five (5) buildings and the construction of selected storm water drain improvements. The northwest quadrant of the complex at Gulfport has a history of flooding and poor drainage with water ponding. The contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials necessary to demolish five buildings at the site, make selected storm water drain improvements and other general construction in accordance with the statement of work, specifications and drawings. Prior to construction, the contractor is required to submit manufacturers? catalog cut-sheets and shop drawings for approval. The following information will be furnished to potential offerors: (1) drawings of the proposed construction and, (2) specifications. It is anticipated that a single award will be made. All effort shall be completed within approximately three months after award and the issuance of the notice to proceed. This is a full and open procurement which is to be awarded as a fixed price contract. The estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. The solicitation, #APHIS-03-013, is to be affixed to all documents submitted in reference to this requirement. It is anticipated that the solicitation, APHIS-03-013, is to be released on or about July 24, 2003 and proposals will be due thirty (30) days after the release of the solicitation. Telephone requests will not be accepted. Paper copies of the RFP and/or amendments will not be issued. The specifications and drawings will be made available on a Compact Disk (CD) or accessible electronically. The specifics for availability of the specifications and drawings will be reflected in the posted solicitation (request for proposals) which is anticipated to be released on or about July 24, 2003. The offeror must submit a street mailing address and an email address. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. Proposals will be due no later than 2:30 p.m. local time on August 25, 2003.
