- Description
- The Forest Service intends to secure services for mechanically masticating small diameter dead and dying conifer, hardwood, brush and other excess woody debri to reduce fire hazard in the Jones Fire Recovery Area and to create a Defensible Fuel Profile Zone (DFPZ) by mechanically masticating unburned, decadent manzanita brush and other woody debris. Mastication shall consist of selecting leave trees and snags and masticating all other live and/or dead trees and brush standing or on the ground except for areas designated by the Contracting Officer’s Representive (C.O.R).The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies and incidentals necessary to complete the contract tasks. The project is located on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, approximately 15 miles north east of Redding, in Shasta County, California, The NAICS code is 115310, with a size standard of $6 million dollars. The estimated start work date is July 01, 2003 with a contract time of 50 days. This solicitation will be available for electronic download only on or about May 19, 2003.
