- NA The Utah National Guard intends to award a contract for the Construction of an addition to the St. George Armory, located in St. George, Utah. The free-standing building will have 12,400 square feet of floor space in one story and will be located within 5 0 feet from the existing Armory. The work includes earthwork and site improvements within the campus property. Utilities to include: utility service lines, sanitary sewer with a septic tank and drainfield, storm drainage, interior roof drain system, nat ural gas, electric power and lighting, telephone and communications services as well as other utilities and improvements. Special communications system will require written certification by an approved communications contractor. The building will be cons tructed of concrete footings, foundations, floor slabs and a concrete weapons storage vault. The plumbing system will include hot and cold water service, equipment and fixtures. HVAC system will use rooftop mounted units, interior ventilation systems wit h control systems. Other features include masonry exterior, bearing walls, steel columns, girders and truss roof structure with steel decking and insulated membrane roofing. Building will also incorporate aluminum windows and entrances, steel stud interi or wall framing with painted gypsum wallboard finish, solid core wood and metal doors in metal frames with security compliant hardware. Interior finish to include lay-in acoustical tile, gypsum wallboard ceiling, painted exposed structure, carpet and viny l composition tile floor coverings with rubber base, ceramic tile floors and wainscots in wet areas. Offices, classroom and other functional areas will use factory and field applied finishes. A base bid and several additive and deductive alternates will be included. This award is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and will be an unrestricted acquisition. All qualified businesses are encouraged to participate. Large businesses are required to comply with FA R Clause 52.219-9 regarding the requirement for submission of a subcontracting plan. Plan will be submitted before contract can be awarded. The applicable NAICS Code is 236210 and the Small Business Size Standard is $17 Million. Estimated Magnitude is b etween $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Performance period is 365 calendar days. Solication packages will be issued from the contracting office. Drawings and specifications will be available from a specified company for a duplication fee. The bidder will be responsible for obtaining copies of the drawings and specifications for his use. Instructions for obtaining the drawings will be included with the solicitation package. Solicitation documents are tentatively scheduled for release on August 4, 2003 with b id opening scheduled approximately September 9, 2003. All requests shall be in writing.
