- UNICOR, Clothing/Textiles Business Group is currently seeking sources for a distribution services requirement which will possibly be advertised. The information retained as a result of this notice is for planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a committment by the Government. In an effort to generate competition it is requested that all interested parties submit your interests by email which shall include a point of contact, company name, address, and phone number. When a solicitation is advertised notification will be given. The Clothing/Textiles Business Group intends to enter into a firm fixed price Requirements type contract for distribution services for the distribution of end items manufactured by the Clothing/Textiles Business Group and supplied to other federal agencies. The primary item to be stocked and warehoused are employee uniforms for issue to the various Bureau of Prisons locations. Other apparel items will be stocked as well which is to be determined. The contractor would be responsible for acquiring all uniform components, providing inventory control and management, warehousing and tracking inventories, and ensuring timely delivery of all uniform components in accordance with best commercial practices. Through this notice, it is requested that each interested offeror submit a statement as to how it would be proposed to set up an operation such as this. Your statement shall include your idea (by detail of stocking, shipping, inventory, etc.), the type warehouse space you can provide, number of employees a job of this magnitude can take, and where located. Responses to this notice shall be emailed to the attention of Joscie L. Barnes, Senior Contracting Officer at the following email address: jbarnes@central.unicor.gov. The file should be sent as an adobe Pdf file. Each response to this notice showing an interest in the upcoming requirement shall be contacted when a solicitation is issued. At this time, phone calls from respondents to discuss this notice will not be accepted.
