Description
The National Cancer Insitute (NCI), Experimental Transplantation and Immunology Branch, (ETI), plans to enter into a sole source contract with Icyt Mission Technology, Inc., 1816 S. Oak Street, Champaign, Ill. 61824 to lease with the option to purchase an Icyt Lyt 200.S Laser System with Coherent Sapphire 200mW 488nm air-cooled DPSS laser with integrated power supply and computer controlled power adjustment and diagnostics. The system must have the capability of a smooth integraiton into the NCI current cell sorter with minimal modificatins to existing instruments. ETI provides essential optical biology services to the NCI and NIH, and would therefore, substantially enhance the flow cytometric analysis capabilities of the NCI. The Lyt 200.S system is manufactured by Icyt Mission Technology currently operating at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Biotechnology Incubator Program, and is the only source known to the government that can provide such a fully integrated system that is ready to install on existing instumentation. The Icyt Lyt 200.S system would replace a current water-cooled gas laser system with a more modern air-cooled solid-state laser system, grately reduce dependence on expensive maintenance, doesn't require a chilled water supply or heat exchanger, a more modern/upgrade system could run off conventional 120V/15 amp power conduits and would reduce substantial cost of maintenance to the government. The ICyt laser also emits a laser beam shape superior to argon-ion gas sources, with lower noise levels and better power control. This will enhance the quality obtained from our instrumentation. The period of performance will be for a period of one year (1) with three one year options periods. Icyt Mission Technology, Inc. This notice is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party believes it can perform the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The capability statement and any other furnished mateiral must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow allow NCI to determine if the party can perform this requirement. Capability statement must be received in the contracting office by 1:30 PM E.S.T. (Local Washington, DC time) on July 11, 2003. If you have any questions please contact Cynthia Brown, Purchasing Agent, 301-402-4509. A determination by the Government not to complete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No collect calls will be accepted. FAR Clause 52.217-8 Option to Extend Services (Novermber 1999) and FAR Clause 52.217-9 Option to Extend the Term of the Contract (March 2000) apply. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 532490 and the business size standard is $6M.
