Description
NAICS Code: 541990 The Environmental Protectoin Agency, Environmental Science Center has a requirement for a firm fixed price purchase order for the conversion of a walk-in style freezer compartment to a refrigerator unit located at 701 Mapes Road, Ft. Meade, MD. The existing unit maintains - 10?C and has no RH control and was manufactured by Environmental Specialties of Raleigh, NC. The conversion will use the same overall box dimensions but replace all appropriate condensers, compressors, condensate drain lines, duct work, evaporators, electrical service, plumbing, on board chart recording, temperature and RH (relative humidity) sensors, monitoring alarm equipment and any required equipment necessary to maintain 50% RH at 4?C?0.5?C per 24 hour period. The contractor will provide all necessary changes to the unit so that proper ventilation and operation are complete. The coolant must be non-ozone depleting materials. The vendor must be ISO 9000 certified and familiar with ISP 14001 requirements in achieving environmental management goals. All electrical connections must meet NEC code and use NEMA 1 panel type enclosures. The existing walking unit has exterior dimensions of 9'7" L X 9'7" W X 9'6"H. The contractor may reuse any pertinent equipment that will be useful in the conversion. The retrofit must include the ability to have remote sensing of temperature and humidity output by providing a minimum of 0-20 mA output for each. Upon completion of the retrofit, the contractor will provide a minimum of 2 hours of operating instructions and detailed design drawings. The work will be warranted for 1 year from date of retrofit conversion acceptance. All equipment, labor and permitting is the responsiblity of the contractor. All penetrations of fire walls will be sealed according to code. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) FAR 13. Anticipated award date on or about August 1, 2003. BASIS OF AWARD WILL BE ON LOWEST PRICE TECHNICALLY ACCEPTABLE AND ISO CERTIFICATION. Only facsmile requests will be honored, reference RFQ number.
