- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to acquire 5 each Rolls Royce F408A engines and accessory components with an option to purchase up to an additional 6 each F408B engines for the Kingdom of Spain and the Republic of Italy. Specifically, the contractor shall provide 5 each model F402-RR-408A engines with government furnished Digital Engine Control Units (DECUS) and Inlet Guide Vane Control Units (IGCVUS); 3 each Fly Lead Kits, part number MSP3757; and 5 each Radar Quick Engine Change Kits (QECK). The resulting contract will also include an option to purchase up to 6 each F402-RR-408B engines; 7 each Fly Lead Kits, part number MSP3757; and 2 each Night Attack Quick Engine Change Kits (QECK). In addition the contractor shall provide an Operation security Program and Administrative and Financial Data in support of the engine acquisition. NAVAIR anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Rolls-Royce plc, Filton, PO Box 3, Bristol, England, United Kingdom BS34 7QE. Rolls-Royce is the sole developer and manufacturer of the F408 engine and is the only known source with the unique experience and technical data required to perform this effort. See Numbered Note 22
