Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to issue a solicitation for hand-held metal detectors. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR ) Part 5.203 (a)(1), electronic files containing the full text of the solicitation will be issued approximately one week after the publication of this presolicitation notice. This requirement will be for hand-held metal detectors, brand name or equal to the ADAMS AD15 model. The solicitation document will contain a Brand Name or Equal purchase description with associated salient characteristics. The hand-held metal detectors must be equipped with an external sensitivity adjustment that requires no tools to gain access or adjust. The contract type for this requirement is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract, and the solicitation will be issued as a commercial item acquisition in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13.5. The Government?s requirement includes hand-held metal detectors and optional accessories: holster, cleaning kits, earphones, wrist straps and instructional video. The period of performance is a one (1) year base period and three (3) one-year option periods. The guaranteed minimum for the hand-held metal detectors for the base period is 50 each, and the guaranteed minimum for the optional accessories is zero (0). The estimated maximum for the hand-held metal detectors and accessories is 500 each per line item. The guaranteed minimum for the hand-held metal detectors for the option periods is 25 each, and the guaranteed minimum for the accessories for the option periods is zero (0). The estimated maximum for the hand-held detectors and accessories for the option periods is 500 each per line item. The requirement is a total small business set-aside in accordance with FAR Part 19.5 and FAR Clause 52.219-6 is incorporated by reference. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this action is 334519 and associated size standard is 500 employees.
