- Description
- Military Sealift Command intends to issue a sole source solicitation to the teaming arrangement of Maersk Line Limited, Rockwell, and Jered Industries for this requirement. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This requirement is for the development, design, and construction of a shop based prototype system that demonstrates selective retrieval and discharge of standard twenty-foot containers with space for five containers that weigh up to twenty (20) tons each. The system shall be capable of being moved and installed onto a Government provided ship for further testing. The detailed design shall incorporate features that enable the system to operate in Sea State 3 and withstand Sea State 8. This requirement will be accomplished in three stages: develop and complete detailed design of prototype, manufacture and test the shop based prototype system, and install and test the protype system aboard a Government provided ship. The second and third stages of this requirement will be options on the contract. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (20-MAR-2003).
