- This procurement will be 100% small business set-aside. Offeror?s other than small businesses are also invited to submit proposals. If no acceptable offers are received from small business, the set-aside will be automatically dissolved and offer?s received from other than small business may be considered for award. NAVSEA Indian Head, Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head, Md. is intending to award a firm fixed price (FFP) purchase order for one (1) desktop x-ray Diffractomer (XRD) meeting the specification of the statement of work found in the solicitation. This commercial acquisition will be accomplished in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13. The applicable North American Industrial classification System (NIACS) code is 334516. The FSC code is 6630. The closing date and time for submission of offers will be contained in the solicitation package. The solicitation notices and any/all amendments will be posted and available for viewing and downloading on the Government Electronic Posting System (EPS) site at www.fedbizops.gov. No paper copies will be issued. When the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review the aforementioned site regularly for any updates/amendments to any and all documents. All prospective offers must have a Commercial and government Entity Code (CAGE Code) and be registered in the Central Contractors Registration (CCR) at www.ccr.gov. In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the Agency. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a purchase order, it does not restrict the Government's ultimate approach, nor does it obligate the Government to pay for any proposal preparation costs. The solicitation notice will be pos ted on or about 11-July-2003 and estimated closing date is 31-July-2003. Once the solicitation has been issued on the Internet, the contract specialist will se nd an e-mail message to the registered requestors informing them that the solicitation is now available for downloading off the Internet. Copies of issued solicitations can only be obtained by downloading them from the IHDIV Contracts Division website at http://www.ih.navy.mil/contracts or www.fedbizops.gov (copies of solicitations will not be e-mailed, faxed, mailed, or provided in person, these types of requests WILL NOT BE ACKNOWLEDGED.)
