Description
NA Project #1 - Aerial copper lines (source of 300 pair copper and 24 strands fiber) to join fiber at manhole; install both lines inside conduit up the pole and install aerial lines along street to backboard. Project # 2 - Splice (source is 200 pair copper) into existing case in the newly established manhole. Install a 24 strand fiber cable through the newly constructed manhole. Raise both cables inside protective conduit to the existing pole line and aerial up hill. Span 25 pair of copper and 12 strands of fiber to buildings. Terminate to pole if aerial or to a new pedestal if buried under the perimeter fence. Install a 35 foot pole between building sites. Project # 3 - Splice (source is 200 pair copper) into an existing case in the newly established manhole. Install a 24 strand fiber cable through the new manhole. Install both cables in protective conduit up the first pole of the existing pole line and aeri al up hill to the Building 2899 backboard and cross connect. Take aerially 25 pairs copper and 12 fiber strands down hill to a new pedestal at the electrical substation. Project # 4 - Install cables (source is 200 pair copper and 12 strands fiber) in conduit up pole and aerial along streets. On the second pole, leave 175 pairs non terminated and proceed uphill with 25 pairs of copper and 12 strands of fiber to a new pedes tal. Project # 5 - Source is Cable #1001 for 25 pairs of copper and 12 strands of fiber located. Use 144 strand single mode cable and 400 pair copper cable into the hut manhole. From the hut manhole, fusion splice only 12 fiber strands and 25 copper pairs. B oth copper and fiber cable will be installed underground in 4-inch conduit to Manhole. Trench from the manhole to a new 35-foot pole at the end of the duct run. The new pole provides transit to the continuing aerial run on the existing pole line along stre et to a new pedestal at the electrical substation. Raise both cables on the new pole inside protective conduit. This requirement will be solicited as an IFB with a small business set-a-side, under NAICS Code 237130, the small business size standard is $28.5 Million per annum. The estimated cost of this procurement is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Telephonic requests for the solicitation resulting from this notice will not be accepted. All faxed reques ts must include an email address. The solicitation will be issued and available for download on the Fort Lewis Web site located at http://www.lewis.army.mil/doc on the issue date of the solicitation. The anticipated issue date for this solicitation is 16 J uly 2003.
