- Description
- This procurement is being processed in accordance with FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and is Full and Open Competition (unrestricted). A Firm Fixed Price Contract will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13.5—Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) is 335921. The Business Size Standard is 1,000 employees. The Government has a requirement for oceanic fiber optics cable. The cable shall contain one electrical circuit and multiple optical circuits. The optical circuits shall have less than 0.23 dB attenuation/Km. Cables must be armored to allow for cable survivability in heavy surf and other rough environments. The cable segments shall be capable of transmitting both high voltage and optical signals. The delivered product must be constructed from a proven design, compatible with existing SL17 cable systems. Delivery Schedule: as early as January 1, 2004. All responsible sources may submit a quotation and will be considered by the Agency. Award will be made to the responsible offeror whose quote, conforming to the solicitation, is considered most advantageous to the Government. The solicitation will be posted at the following Internet address <http://esol.navfac.navy.mil> on or about 3 July 2003 with a closing date of 21 July 2003. In accordance with FAR 5.102 this solicitation will only be available electronically.
