Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) at Lakehurst, New Jersey has been tasked by the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Code PMA-260 to procure new CV Cranes. The government will procure from the option quantities 14 over the planned five-year period. The CV Crane IPT has openly requested information from industry representatives concerning current and immediate future production of CV Cranes. Solicitation No. N68335-03-R-0116 and any amendments will not be mailed to contractors. The solicitation will appear on the NAVAIR homepage located at http:www.navair.navy.mil/doing_business/open solicitations/. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst NJ intends to competitively contract for the acquisition of modified commercial cranes. The purpose of this program is to satisfy the operational need of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps by providing a commercially available mobile ship crane, with the capability of safely moving aircraft, boats and equipment up to a capacity identified in the system specifications (approximately 60,000 pounds.) The objectives for this procurement are to enhance capability and performance (i.e. equal or surpass existing requirements), and satisfy the service?s future lifting needs with a new Crane. It is the objective of this program to replace the existing Navy Boat & Aircraft Crane, with a new mobile, commercially built crane. The contract type will be firm fixed price. The Government will initially procure 2 (two) cranes with options to purchase 12 cranes over a three-year period. The cranes shall meet the performance requirements and size specifications listed in the system specification and Statement of Work. The Government intends to award a contract to the offeror whose proposal offers the best value to the Government, considering evaluation factors identified in the solicitation. All contractors seeking award must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database.
