- NA Market Research/Sources Sought for a quantity of 12,996 each BSU-86A/B Fin Assemblies, NSN: 1325-01-437-8275. This complex Fin Assembly includes a spring arming wire/lanyard and convoluted shock absorber which provides the aircraft the capability of high- drag or low-drag bomb delivery. Special skills include welding, heat treating, machining,and metal forming to assure the accuracy required for fin locations and proper shock absorber function. The facilities require high quality phosphate coating, spray wash painting, and zinc phosphate capabilities. There is a large cost to facilitize for these processes. A 100% small business set-aside is anticipated based upon the results of the market reseach responses/interest received.
