- NA The United States Army Communication Electronics Command (USACECOM) intends to procure REMBASS II and BAIS on a sole source basis from L-3 Communications (Communication Systems-East) of Camden, New Jersey. The Remote Battlefield Sensor System Version II (REMBASS-II) sets and the Battlefield Anti Intrusion System (BAIS) are unattended ground sensor systems that provide field commanders with a worldwide, 24 hour, all-weather, early warning surveillance and tar get detection/classification capability for use during any level of conflict. This acquisition will be a new, four-year Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for up to 50 REMBASS-II sets and 1,900 BAIS sets, and associated spare parts, with Time and materials (T&M) line items for training, e ngineering, technical and logistical support services. The contractor will be required to propose economical range quantities for the equipment contained in Schedule B of the solicitation. The guaranteed minimum for the contract is $2 million intended for at least three Stryker Sets and thirty PEWD II Systems. The contract will have a ceiling of $48.7 million. The DRAFT solicitation will be posted to the IBOP in early July, 2003.
