Description

The US Fish and Wildlife Service(FWS), Mid-Columbia River FRO, desires to purchase Fish Tagging Accessories that go with the Northwest Marine Technology Binary Coded Wire Tags. The FWS is needing three (3) rectangular tunnel detectors (R9500) that detect a coded wire tag in a fish sliding throught the unit under the influence of gravity. A tagged fish is indicated visually by a bright light emitting diode and audibly by a beeper. These tunnel detectors are 17 1/8 inches wide, 13 inches high and 48 1/2 inches long. The inside dimensions are 4 5/8 by 9 1/2. Along with the detector the FWS is needing three (3) diverter gates with counters for use when sampling large fish. The FWS is also obtaining a hand held wire detecotr that goes with Northwest Marine Technologies Binary Coded Wire Fish Tags. Thes wand type tag detecotra (patent #5,134,370) is a handheld unit which may be moved in the earth's magnetic field unlike other detectors which must remain stationary. The wands are approx 16 3/8 inches long and 2 3/4 inches in diameter. For further information, please contact Kristin Young at 503-872-2827
